Remakes

Remakes? I love it! Mostly music remakes and a few movies and animes. Here’s one that makes my upper torso shake-and-wiggle with one hand up in the air while driving. Whenever I hear this played on the radio I just lose myself and sing-along like I’m a blues baby or a rock star. The title? “Farther Up the Road” by Bobby Blue Bland, which was originally a hit in 1957. It was then widely covered by other well-known artists. Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton made a remake in 1981. Eric Clapton singled himself out and made his own version of it in 1996. Johnny Cash and Bruce Springsteen sung the same title but were different songs (meaning different lyrics and tune). Then recently, I heard a snappy version of Mick Hucknall, and snap… became my favorite. I hope you like it too…
