Food Critic: Pizza
I’m craving for pizza today. And I want to talk about it before my appetite is slaked. First of all, a box of pizza is not cheap. So I’m contemplating whether to buy pizza or the usual rice and dish combo for lunch. You’ll spend around $5 to $25 for a large pan pizza good for 4 persons (thin or thick crust) versus spending a combo meal for $7 for one person. It also depends on the place where you get these dishes. Pizzas can be for the junkies, but they’re also for those with exquisite taste for food. It’s considered junk food, but in my opinion, it’s a healthy meal that is practically ready to serve. Is it easy to make pizza? Yes!!!! Even a 5 year old can make his simple version of this Italian dish. If you look at it closely, there are just 3 parts of a pizza; the crust (dough), the sauce, and the toppings (a variety of goodies). Depending on your taste buds, you might prefer a piece of bread or from-scratch-dough. Rumors has it that New York makes the best-tasting pizza with their special “crust”, but Californians refutes this. Then comes the sauce. I think it’s the sauce that is essential to any pizza. It becomes the “middleman” that puts together a wonderful ensemble. You can toss anything, when I say anything I really mean it, on the crust as long as there’s sauce in it. Having no-sauce would taste aweful. It is like biting on a sandwich without any spread on it. Then ofcourse comes the toppings. I believe toppings say a lot about your character. Whether you’re a meat-lovers, vegan or what have you, toppings would hint what your taste-buds are craving for. Me? I just want “everything on it” or “the works” and I’m good.
